The Rams gave the Beavers a real test in the homecoming clash. Rams drop Homecoming Game situation a bad snap from center went over punter Mitch Oakdens head. Oakden picked it up and ran down the sidelines for a Beaver TD. The Beavers scored 2 touchdowns in the fourth quarter defeating the Rams 31-12. 31-12. The Rams coaching staff Tom Baltzer, Lowell Anderson and Ralph Riggs felt like the Rams offensive line opened many holes against a defense which many people thought couldn't be dented. Also the Rams defense played an outstanding game containing a fine running attack by Mitch Oakden. The Parowan team will play Wed. Oct. 6 in Milford, looking forward to their second victory. PAROWAN - The Parowan Rams lost a heartbreaker Friday Oct. 1 to the Beaver Beavers on a cold rainy Homecoming night. The Beavers took an early lead on a blocked pass interception. Beaver was unable to convert the extra point. The Beavers scored again in the 2nd quarter but with just 2 minutes left in the first half the Rams started to move the ball down the field by the fine running of Curtis Mitchell and Gordon Mortensen. Parowan got o n the score board with 41 seconds remaining in the first half on a pluging drive by Curtis. The Rams were unable to convert the extra point and went in at halftime 12 to 6. The Rams came out after half time and caught fire on excellent play selection by Quarterbacks Donald Hulet and Brent Rowley.
