Show Creative Demonstration Course Offered at SUSC "Gifts Money "Can't Buy," a series of creative demonstrations demon-strations dealing with the Christmas season, will be offered during early December at Southern Utah State College. Classes will include sessions on hand-made hand soap, Christmas Christ-mas goodies, holiday decorations, knitting and creative toys. The public is invited in-vited to attend any one or all of these presentations. All sessions will be held in the SUSC Family Living Center, Science 200 C, under the direction of the SUSC Family Life Department. Sessions will last from 3-5 p.m. "The series of classes will be offered on a non-credit basis and will be demonstration-type sessions," Ada Carpenter, chairwoman of the Family Life Department, said. "Gifts Money Can't Buy" has been especially designed for student wives and spouses she said. On December 8 Cedar City home economist Barbara Marchant will demonstrate "Hand Soap Hand Made." The following day home economist Jane Croft will deal with the art of making "Christmas Goodies." On December 10 "Holiday Decorations" will be topic of discussion by Lynn Bills, florist and design expert from Zion Sun Floral. On December 13 SUSC faculty member Ella Van Groningen will demonstrate "Knitting" special projects for the holiday season, and on December 15, another SUSC faculty member, Bonnie Bishop, will demonstrate hand crafted "Creative Toys." "We are very pleased to offer i the series and invite everyone interested to attend," Mrs. Carpenter said. Earlier demonstrations included ones on ' "Decorative Quilted Pillows" by Cedar City homemaker Betty Jean Cowley and "Macrame" under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Giles. |
