Show SUSC Jazz Band Concert A special treat for jazz lovers will be offered Thursday, December 2 at Southern Utah State College when the SUSC Jazz Band will appear in concert. The program begins at 8 p.m. in the SUSC Music Recital Hall under the direction of James Ketch, Jazz Band director. The public is invited to attend the concert free of charge. "We will be featuring music made popular by the Count Basie Orchestra, Woody Herman, Buddy Rich and Stan Kenton Bands," Professor Ketch said, "and will present several SUSC students as soloists during the evening." Student soloists will include Lamont Anderson, Salt Lake City, and Brad Moss, Cedar City, on trumpet; Steve Conners, Bountiful, on tenor saxophone; Scott Higins, Bountiful, or. trombone; and Jeff Stasny, San Diego, on drums. Mr. Larry Wright, Cedar High School Band Director, will be the guest "We cordially invite the public to attend our performance," per-formance," Professor Ketch said, "this is the first time SUSC has had a jazz band in several years and we are very pleased with the progress made this quarter." |
