Show Happy Homemaking Hints By Janet Weaver This week, by request, we are re-running a recipe we ran about a year ago. This yummy gum drop bar recipe originally came from Mrs. Rudger Walker at BYU. GUMDROP BARS 2 cups flour tsp. salt 1 tsp cinnamon 3 eggs ' 2 cup chopped nuts 1 cup brown sugar 4 cup evaporated milk 1 cup gumdrops (cut up and all colors but black) Sift flour, salt, cinnamon. Beat eggs and then beat in sugar and milk gradually. Add flour mixture in thirds. Beat well and add gumdrops and nuts. Spread in a medium size cake pan. Bake at 325 deg. for 35 min. Cool, frost with white powdered sugar icing, cut in squares and top with a slice of gum drop (red and green are fun for Christmas). |
