Rams win over Tabiona, Piute PAROWAN The Parowan Rams are back on the winning streak again after beating Tabiona, losing to Panguitch, then defeating Piute last Friday night 81 to 60. The Rams took an early lead of 22 to 4 at the end of the first quarter and held a near 20 point lead throughout the game. At one time they led by 29 points. Coach Riggs was able to substitute freely and still maintain a comfortable lead by using a strong bench. As he said before the season started "The Rams have a strong bench and we should be able to play the whole team without losing too much." This is important when the ga me plan calls for a full court press the full game. Tom Robinson led the scoring with 23 points, Mike Robinson had 18, Don Hulet 12, Brad Fife 9, Brent Rowley 8, Mike Benson 4, Richard Burton 2, Tracy Adams 2, Mike Evans 2, and Kim Bess 1. Coach Riggs suited up two JV players along with the 12 varsity players and was able to play all 14 men. Coach Riggs said he appreciates ap-preciates the support of the fans and parents. He feels that the Rams are playing well, learning his style of defense, improving each game, and definitely one of the strong teams in the region. With the help of the cheerleaders, Band, Rammettes, and the fans, the enthusiasm of the team will continue to grow as will their playing ability. |
