Show SUSC Campus Nursery School has openings There are openings for three and four year old children to attend the Campus Nursery School at Southern Utah State College. Three year olds attend the Federally funded nursery school from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Four year olds occupy the family living center facilities from l to 4 p.m. Teachers Susan Ketch for the morning session and Colleen Kazor for the afternoon section report that three more children can be enrolled in each class, bringing the maximum number of children to 11 in each section. "The nursery was especially developed to serve SUSC student parents and other low income families,", Virginia Higbee, nursery school coordinator, reports. "The service is free if applicants meet Title XX income guidelines; if not, an enrollment fee w ill be charged according to income," she said. Parents desiring more information in-formation about the nursery school can contact Mrs. Higbee at 586-4411, ext. 339, weekdays before noon. "The program is based on a pre-kindergarten learning program. Both age groups are currently working with the alphabet and simple numbers," Mrs. Higbee said. There is also ample time allowed for free play activities both indoors and out. The combined group will present a Christmas program December 16 for their parents and friends. Higbee said that the public is invited to attend the program which will begin at 7 p.m. in the SUSC Music Recital Hall. |
