Show Jvees look to winning season Southern Utah State's junior varsity basketball team begins its home season Saturday and Monday nights at War Memorial Fieldhouse. The junior T-Birds host the Clearfield Job Corps team Monday at 7:30 p.m. and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas Squad Monday at 5:15 p.m. The UNLVtontest is a preliminary to a varsity game between SUSC and Grand Canyon College. Better overall height is expected ex-pected to make the Jayvee squad toughter this season than last year. Among the players looking good in preseason scrimmages have been Bob Ramsay (6-2 from Kanab), Rick Blackwell (6-2 from Circleville), Brad Blackner (6-2 from Cedar City), Rick Jones (5-11 from Enterprise), Mark Planck (6-7 from Newhall, Calif.), Clyde Christensen 6-4 from Escalante), and Mike Dalton (6-4 from Circleville.) Four players have just begun working out with the team after completing the football season for the T-Birds. They include Scott Burns (6-3 Cedar City), Kit Janes (6-5 Kanab), Tim Olson (6-2, (6-2, Byer, Colo.), and Tim Vetere (6-4, Green River). |
