Show New Bridge for Kolob Road An old narrow bridge over North Creek on the Kolob Mountain Road in Washington County is scheduled for replacement. A new, 30-foot wide prestressed concrete bridge will be built to accommodate increasing traffic to the Kolob Reservoir recreation area west of Virgin near Zion National Park. The new bridge will have two 12-foot travel lanes, three-foot shoulders and a concrete deck. The Utah Department of Transportation today opened bids on a contract for the project, which must be completed by May 1, 1977. The apparent low bid of $68,943 was submitted by L. A. Young Sons Construction Co. of Richfield, Utah. The official engineer's estimate was $65,460. |
