Show Sculptured Rocks in Many Hues Enchant Bryce Visitors Other guided walks include a Rim Walk leaving from Sunset Point and the Bristlecone Walk from Rainbow Point. Campfire programs are given nightly in both campgrounds. The Environmental Day School offers a wide variety of "Environment" oriented activities ac-tivities for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Two sessions are held each week day. I The warm sunny days and l cool nights of August makes this an ideal month to visit Bryce I Canyon National Park. 1 . Bryce Canyon is located 1 in Southern Utah and is most ? easily reached from highway 89 at the Bryce Junction, 7 miles south of Panguitch. Turn east at this junction and travel 17 miles to the park entrance. Bryce Canyon is a place of breathtaking beauty seventeen seven-teen miles of erosion-formed, awe-inspiring, pinnacles and spires along the eastern rim of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. From Fairyland view point, near the park's, northern boundary, to Rainbow Point, The Southern-most view point, the brilliant colors of the sculptured rock formations defy description. A photographers paradise, from the first rays of the morning sun casting shadows on the wierd forms of pink and red limestone to the long purple shadows of evening, the scene is constantly changing. As the light changes, so does the aspect of the canyon. The first stop for the park visitor should be the Visitor Center. Here the orientation slide program is shown every fifteen minutes throughout the day, and helpful park aids are on hand to answer any questions. Information on all interpretive activities is available here and a bicentennial bicen-tennial movie is shown each afternoon. The Visitor Center is opne from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily. There are a variety of interpretive in-terpretive activities offered at Bryce Canyon. Included are two Ranger guided "Special" walks daily which go to parts of the park not readily accessible to the visitor without a guide. , - . . ; . ; I -v $ t- BRYCE SCULPTURES-Many outstanding rack formations are scattered amid the Bryce National Forest. |
