' i For Lake Powell in Arizona and Utah is a baby among -tourist attractions, but not in size. Barely a teenage , its 186 mile length and 1900 miles of shoreline awes many who have heeared of the lake's natural beauty. Daily boat tours ranging from one-hour cruises to full-day trips to Rainbow Bridge National Monument can help overcome this apprehension. Visitors depart from Wahweap Wah-weap Lodge & Marina, five miles north of Page, Arizona, or from Bullfrog Resort & Marine, 70 miles south of Hanksville, I tali. Both resorts are authorized by Hie National I'ark Service, and both offer accommodations, "package" vacations, and a wide a la carte variety of water sports. "Queens" of their lour fleets are 43-passenger, air- monument to be discovered (1909). The 309-foot-high stone arch, world's tallest, is as inspiring in-spiring as it was in 1913 when Zane Grey and Theodore Roosevelt were among the few lardy annual visitors. That famous 1776 event will be re-enacted in October, 1976, as an official national bi-centennial event. Among Bullfrog to Rainbow attractions is Hole-In-The-Rock, a fording site used by Mormons as they fanned out from Salt Lake City to populate Utah and Arizona. |
