Show j j Calif, couple enjoy Utah visit (By Lelah Wilson Mr; . and Mrs. Jerry E. Boyns : and family of San Diego, Calif. ? returned home Sunday after I spending the past two weeks vacationing in Utah with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Randle of Eureka, and Mrs. Lelah Wilson, Cedar City. The Eureka visit included the Tintic Mining Distrct Bicentennial Bicen-tennial celebration and Homecoming August 5 through August 8. Mrs. Wilson, also, u attended the celebration and I stated jthat everyone who had K ever lived in the Tintic District I returned home to join in the 1 celebration. Campers and trailer , j homes; were parked on every available space around town and the visitors registration book at City Hall showed that Eureka's population had increased from 575 to 2,350. Jerry and his mother were active participants during the celebration. Jerry was the official of-ficial photographer for the Utah State Historical Society during the dedication of the new museum Thursday, August 5, for all sports events, and during the parade on Saturday evening, August 7. Mrs. Wilson was a hostess at the Mammoth Mine for Ken-necott Ken-necott Copper Co. during the conducted tours of the working mines throughout the District. The tours were sponsored by Kennecott Copper Co. and narrated by Kennecott officials, Ted Johnson and Paul Mogensen. After the exciting week in Eureka, Jerry and his family returned to Cedar City to continue con-tinue their vacation. Cedar Chapter No. 20, Order of the Eastern Star, celebrated Robert Morris Day at the Pine Valley recreation site on Sunday, August 1. Members of Gloria Chapter No. 19, Richfield, and M;ary Chapter No. 5, Caliente, Nev. joined the Cedar City group. The afternoon was spent enjoyed en-joyed good food, games and visiting. Thirty-five members and their families attended the outing. |
