Show Civil Air Patrol holds meeting The Utah Wing of the Civil Air Patrol will hold an open meeting in Cedar City this week, at the Cedar City Airport at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 27. The functions and purposes of the Civil Air Patrol will be explained. The Civil Air Patrol (C.A.P.) is reorganizing the unit in the Cedar City area and everyone interested in aviation, aerospace education, and air search and rescue are Invited to attend. Applications for membership will also be accepted at this meeting. The Utah State Division of Aeronautics has given the Utah Wing C.A.P. responsibility for Air Search and Rescue within the State. With this assignment. Emergency Services becomes one of the most important aspects of the C.A.P. The C.A.P. is a totally volunteer force, acting as an auxilliary of the US Air Force. With the facilities at the airport, generally stable flight conditions, con-ditions, and the FAA Flight Service Station in Cedar, Utah Wing Civil Air Patrol considers this an ideal base for an effective force, or for a mission headquarters should the need arise. |
