Show Flew Classrooms for South Elementary Using public surveys, research studies, and visits to onsite programs, the Iron County School Board decided "the new addition at the South Elementary School will be comprised of self-contained classrooms." For several months prior to the decision, several committees studied open-space and self- contained educational programs, the result of which shows thru "one program did not prove tbe superior over the other." Dr, Clair Morris, superintendent said. A survey instrument was also sent home to parents, Morris said. Of the survey sheets sent out, 156 were returned. The returns showed 136 desired self- contained classrooms for the new addition and 20 wanted the new classrooms to be open-spaced. The new addition will include seven classrooms, six of which will run parallel to the present wing on the south side of the building and one classroom will be connected on the west end of the present kindergarten rooms, |
