Show ROYALTY CROWNED. Linda Lunt, 18 year old beauty, was selected Miss Iron County in ceremonies Friday. Attendants chosen were Emily Jane Eager, left, first attendant and Janice Mae Bickmore, second attendant. Fifteen local girls participated. Linda Lunt crowned Miss Iron County Linda Lunt, 18 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Mit-chell Lunt, was crowned Miss Iron County in a talent-laden contest Friday night at the Cedar High Auditorium. Attendants selected by the five judges were Emily Jane Eager and Janice Mae Bickmore, both of Cedar City. Fifteen girls, 11 from Cedar City, three from Parowan and one from Summit, participated in the annual Jaycee-sponsored event. Linda, sponsored by Lunt Motor Co., of Cedar, showed slides of her self-tailored wardrobe war-drobe as her talent presentation. To the tune of "I Enjoy Being a Girl," Linda modeled piece after piece of her favorite garments which she had sewn. Linda was also co-winner of the Miss Congeniality award, voted on by the girls. Also winning the coveted award was Dawn Rae Sullivan, Cedar City. Other special awards were given to Janice Bickmore for Miss Personality, voted on by the .judges, and Emily Eager for Miss Talent, also an award from the judges. Miss Lunt also won a Miss Photogenic Award. Master of Ceremonies for the event was Bob Welti, television personality in the Intermountain area. Talent shown by the girls ranged from bluegrass banjo to modern dance routines, with flower arranging and classical opera in between. The reigning royalty also demonstrated their talents at the Sunday night program of Talent in Parowan, where they were presented flowers by special guest Clint Walker. |
