Show "CedarWeeders" clean Cemetery-City Park work. He said it changed the' dollar value of the areas about $700. This seems like a lot for young people, none older than 11, to do for their community. After some tun songs, the group enjoyed hot cocoa and donuts. The cocoa was made by Lori Webb and served by ' "Planting Patriots" Giana, Amber and Lori Graff. Funds for the event were furnished bj Cedar Products.'he youth development program, which sponsored these "Cedar Weeders," is part of the Extension Ex-tension Service Youth Program. What happens when 158 young people and 29 leaders decide to do something for their country? Well, for one thing, weeds disappear. In Cedar's new Canyon Park arjd at the cemetery, a lot of weeds were made to disappear by" packs of cub scouts. They came, like locusts, one group at a time, until every pack in town had participated. They were assisted by one group of older scouts and two 4-H groups. Each group jjad their own area to do. They wot ked hard, pulling, chopping and caking weeds. In a few spots, the jveeds were taller than the boys. It took most of the groups an hour or more to clear their areas. After all groups had participated, par-ticipated, all gathered one morning at the new park for a short program and light breakfast. break-fast. After a flag ceremony, the group sang "God .
