S. (Dub) Leigh of Leigh Furniture. I The 940 lb. steer went for $1.50 a pound. The Grand Champion fat hog 1 brought $1.00 a pound, exhibited by Val Garner of St. George and ; sold to Cedar City Stockyards for $200.00. Grand Champion fat lamb exhibited by Paul Olson of Spanish Fork, sold to H. J. Delaney of I Cedar City for $600.00. As far as is known, this could be a national I record up to that time. (10 years ago Announcement was made of the appointment of Neil K. Boyter as I College of Southern Utah (SUSC) Purchasing Agent by Dr. Royden C. Braithwaite, SCU President. Mr. Boyter succeeded F. Gordon Slack, who was named Asst. Treasurer at the college. Mr. Boyter, a native of Beaver, has been secretary of the South West Livestock i Show for 21 years (now 31 years). He was affiliated with Columbia Iron Mines as a cost accountant for four years; Bradshaw Chevrolet I . ten years as accountant and sales manager, and also managed the 1 - Cadillac, Pontiac dealership for 17 years.
