Show ( mi '-?r M EXHIBITION SCHEDULED. Carol Jeanne Abrahams works potter's pot-ter's wheel in preparation for exhibition to be held at Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery. Carol Jeanne Abraham schedules Art Exhibit The Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery at Southern Utah State College, Cedar City, announces an exhibition of Porcelain and Feber Art by Carol Jeanne Abraham, September 9 through 29, 1976. According to Prof. Thomas A. Leek, gallery curator, an opening reception, Thursday, September 9, 7 - 9 p.m., will provide the public with an opportunity op-portunity to meet the artist and enjoy some light refreshments provided by the SUSC Women's Resource Committee. A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Carol Jeanne Abraham is assistant professor of art at SUSC where she currently teaches courses in ceramics and sculpture. The artist studied at Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia Boston Museum School of Fine Arts, and Tufts University where she graduated with a BS degree in 1971. She pursued graduate study at the Rochester Institute of Technology, School for American Craftsmen, and graduated with an MFA degree in 1973. She has attended the Penland School of Crafts, Penland, North Carolina. Prof. Abraham's teaching experience includes public schools in Framingham and Boston, Mass.; Boston State College, Rochester Institute of Technology, and SUSC where she joined the faculty in 1975. Carol Jeanne Abraham has participated as artist-lecturer in a host of workshops and symposiums, sym-posiums, including the Second International Ceramic Symposium Sym-posium at Bassano Del Grappa, Italy. She is a regular exhibitor in state, regional and national competitions as well as invitational in-vitational exhibitions. She has been represented in many publications including Ceramics Monthly, Ceramic Review, and Craft Horizons. Thixotropic clay (porcelain) has dominated the artist's work in recent years. Her works are in numerous private and public collections, including Italy, Canada, and the United States. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. The public is especially invited, Prof. Leek said. Organized groups are asked to schedule their visits in advance. |
