Show Hanks to preside at Stake Conference PAROWAN Marion D. Hanks, an assistant to the council of the Twelve of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak at the Parowan Utah Stake Conference September 25 and 26. Hanks has been prominent in civic affairs, particularly in the field of youth development. He served for several years as a member of the United President's council for physical fitness and sports. He has been a speaker and consultant at youth conferences throughout the United States and in foreign countries. He has participated in a number of White House conferences con-ferences on children and youth. In scouting Elder Hanks serves as a member of the Regional and National Councils and as a member of the National Explorer Ex-plorer Committee. He has been awarded the Silver Beaver, the Silver Antelope, and the Order of the Arrow. Elder Hanks holds a Juris Doctor degree from, the University of Utah. He has for many years been a teacher, and served for a number of years in the leadership of Temple Square. Conference meetings will commence on Saturday Sept. 25 under the direction of Parowan MARION D. HANKS Utah Stake president J. Phillip Hanks. Leadership of the Stake will gather for instructional meetings on Saturday afternoon. All adult members of the stake are invited to attend a special meeting to be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening. All members as well as the general public are extended an invitation from President Hanks to attend the general sessions which will be held on Sunday Sept. 26. Two general sessions will be held to accomodate the entire membership of the stake. The first will start at 8:30 a.m. and will be held in the Parowan Third Ward Chapel. If possible those living in the Parowan first, Parowan second, Parowan : Third, and the Paragonah Wards ' should plan to attend. The second session will be held at 11 a.m. It will be held in the new Encoh Ward Chapel. Those to attend should be both Enoch Wards also the members from Summit. ' |
