Show Nonpartisan ballot ready Voters who go to the polls Tuesday, Sept. 14 to participate in the Primary Elections, will find a non-partisan section attached, whether they vote Democratic or Republican. Every voter living in the State School Board District No. 7, which includes 16 school districts: Alpine, Beaver, Garfield, Kane, Iron, Juab, Millard, Piute, Provo City, Sevier, South Sanpete, North Sanpete, San-pete, Tintic, Tooele, Wayne and ' Washington- will participate. Six candidates have filed tor the position and each of the candidates will appear on thenon-partisan portion of the ballots. The two top vote getters in the election will then oppose each other in the general - v election to be held in November;- --w Currently the post is being held by Steven L. Garrett of Cedar City who is completing a four-year term on the state , board. He is seeking re-election for another four year term. Challenging for the four year term are five other aspirants from throughout the ' large geographic area of Region Seven. ' Two other candidates are from Iron County. They include Dr. Steve VanDyke, an instructor at Southern Utah State College from Cedar City and Kenneth Marsden Joseph, a Parowan businessman. Other candidates include Montrue G. Larkin of St. George, Lloyd K. Schlappi of Richfield and Dallas A. Greener of Gunnison. All voters in the southern portion of the state will have an opportunity to vote on these candidates. For those residing in School Board Representative Precinct No. 1, five candidates have also been announced for the Iron County School Board.Precinct One of the Iron County School Board is , newly created through reapportionment during the past year. Only those in the voting district of Cedar City 14, New Castle, Richland-Beryl, Modena, Mid- . valley and Enoch will vote on this non-partisan non-partisan portion of the ballot. Again the top two candidates from the . ' five candidates will go on to oppose each other in November. Since the precinct is a new precinct there is no incumbents eligible to vie for the position. . Voters in this precinct will have a choice between the following candidates, as they are listed on the ballot: Fred C. Adams, Clayton Frehner, Richard C. Johnson, William C. Reagan and Wayne A. Smith. Voters in each of the non-partisan school board races will be allowed to vote for only "one" candidate, despite the fact that two will advance to the general election in November, it is pointed out by Clair Hulet, .
