Show Oct. 9th next ACT testing date The next testing date for the ACT Assessment (American College Test) will be October 9 at Southern Utah State College. College-bound students must register to take the test by September 13. "It is very important that prospective students planning to attend SUSC fall quarter register bvy Sept 13 if they wish to take the test in October. Freshmen students must be registered to take the test before they can complete fall quarter registration," reports Jim Piacitelli, SUSC director of counseling. Students planning to take the ACT may obtain registration forms by contacting the Student Resources Center at SUSC, room 135, administration building. Information concerning the assessment or registration procedures may be obtained by calling 586-4411, ext. 336. The ACT, Piacitelli notes, is required by all Utah colleges, with the exception of the technical schools, for admission. The three hour and 15 minute assessment measures a student's achievement levels in math, natural science, English and social science in terms of local and national percentiles. An interest inventory and valuable information to aid in advising and counseling the student is included as part of ACT registration procedures. About an hour and a half will be required to complete these procedures, Piacitelli notes. |
