Show KANARRAVILLE NEWS NOTES : By Hannah Davit Our community was saddened again by the sudden death of one of our former townsmen, John Davis Parker (better known as Dee), who died suddenly Nov. 9 at his home In Vista, Calif. Dee and his good wife Effa were here to visit with us this summer, which we all looked forward to, as they bring sunshine and hap-p.ness hap-p.ness Into the homes. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Ouur sympathy goes out to his family and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hcevos of Cedar City spent an evening tit tiic home of his sister Jennie Williams. Wil-liams. 9 We were glad to see our friends and relatives here over the week end from Las Vegas. They were Mr. and Mrs. Gus Pingle, Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Davis, Mrs. Marie Huntsman and Mrs. Ferl Zohner. They came to attend the funeral of Dee Parker. Also here o the funeral were friends and relatives rela-tives from Parowan, Cedar City and New Harmony. Mr. and Mrs Kelvin Zohner and small son were home over the week end to visit and attend to business. Kelvin is attending school at the BYU in Provo. Park Williams and Juanita Kossen of Henderson visited here with relatives for a few days. We are pleased to state that Park is doing fine after a serious heart operation In Salt Lake City Ci-ty recently. Mr. and Mrs. George Munford had as their guests one of Mrs. Munford's sisters and her family. Mr. and Mrs. Peters, who are moving to Alaska to make their home. Mrs. Iona Adams and children of Las Vegas were here for a few days with her mother, Mable Williams. Mr. Adams also visited visit-ed here with his family. We were pleased to visit with the brother and sisters of Dee Parker but sorry It had to be such a sad occasion. They were Z'n? Pollock of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Sophia Stapley of Provo, Mrs. Laura Wood of California, Faye Parker of Panguitch, Mrs. Ester kobb of Portland, Ore., and Cecil Parker. They were former residents re-sidents here. Mrs. Bernell Isom was a b"sl-ness b"sl-ness visitor In Salt Like Cty. She was accompanied by her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Otlcll Bryant of Cedar City. Mrs. Raymond Anker is teaching teach-ing the higher grades at school owing to the accident of our Prlnciap'l Robert Stratton, the first day of the pheasant season sea-son near Hurricane, as his gun exploded, inluring his eves. W hope he will soon be able to be back to school. Mrs. Anker seem' to be doing a fine Job with the students. A flag pole was Install.1 at our school grounds Monday by Charles R. Rasmussen and Leonard Leon-ard Davis. |
