Show City Council Awcarel Hangar, Tank Foundation Contracts . The City Council in special meeting Monday night accepted bids for construction of a hangar at the municipal airport and for installation of concrete foundations founda-tions for two water tanks to be installed In the next six months. The council also considered bids for erection of a pump house at the Quitchapah well, but deferred defer-red action until its regular meeting meet-ing tonight. j The bid of Blackburn and Gow-er, Gow-er, local contractors, of $75 per yard for the tank foundations was accepted. At this price per yard the foundations will cost, approximately $1,125. No other bids were received. Work on the project will start immediately since the tanks must be Install ed by June 1, 1961. A number of bids were considered consid-ered on the hangar, including; bids on five and eight unit hangars han-gars of concrete block and also of metal. The bid of Utah System Builders of Salt Lake City of 14,00-1 for a five unit metal hangar han-gar was accepted. Systems bid! for an eight unit metal structure-was structure-was 22,057. Blackburn and Gower submitted submit-ted bids of $26,331 for a five unit, concrete block building, and $12,-128 $12,-128 for an eight unit building. Leo Palmer, Cedar City, bid $25,-300 $25,-300 for the five unit block building build-ing and $37,273 for the eight unit block building. -j Two bids were received on the-pump the-pump house with Evan Dobson. Cedar City, bidding $1,176 anol Utah System Builders $1,388. The Council also signed a cooperative co-operative agreement with the? Utah Aeronautics Board for participating parti-cipating in blacktopping the area around the administration balding bald-ing at the airport and the parking park-ing strip. The state will provid'-$1,745 provid'-$1,745 or half the cost of the project |
