Show Lions Minstrel to Spice Thanksgiving, Club Plans Great Show for the Public Thanksgiving is just one weeki away, and members of the Cedar City Lions Club are rushing final preparations for the annual Minstrel Min-strel Show, traditional Thanksgiving Thanks-giving Night entertainment In Cedar City. For many years the Lions have been presenting the Minstrel Show at Thanksgiving time as a means of raising funds for the manv community prolects carried car-ried on by the club. All proceeds from the annual event are used for such projects, as providing recreation and other facilities for youth activities in the community. commu-nity. The Lions softball and Pony League baseball field is one monument of community improvement im-provement made possible through such activities as the minstrel show. For the past few years the club has been presenting two performances perform-ances of the minstrel on Thanksgiving. Thanks-giving. This year, however, there will only be one performance, at 8 p. m. in the College of Southern Utah auditorium. . Forrest Hunter, In charge of the event this year, announces that special efforts are being made to keep the show clean and wholesome, and parents par-ents are urged to bring their children to the performance on Thanksgiving, Nov. 24. Admission prices have been set at 50 cents for children and students and 1.00 for adults. In addition to the usual "ribbing" "rib-bing" of leading citizens of the community, and chorus work, talent of the club and in the Lady Lions will be used to provide pro-vide many unusual specialty acts and nun- bers, providing an evening eve-ning of fine entertainment. A ticket sales contest has been under way for some time, with the club split into two groups. The losing team will be responsible respon-sible for a party for the winners. win-ners. i |
