Show Renumbering Project Undertaken by Planning Commission Progress" is being made on renumbering re-numbering of streets and homes of the city as proposed by the Cedar City Planning Commission, reports C. B. Cooley, commission chairman. The program has been undertaken under-taken not to much as a re-numbering effort or move to change the present numbering system, but rather as a means of bringing the street and home numbering up to date. Rapid expansion of residential areas of the city, creation of numerous sub-divisions and the opening of a number of streets, has left the numbering system, particularly in the outlying areas, very inadequate. In fact in a number of areas there Is no numbering num-bering at alL Requests for allocs, tlon of numbers in these areas have prompted the undertaking of completing an over-all plan. City englneef Clemont Adams and the planning commission have taken the stand that to avoid error and confusion it is necessary to organize a definite numbering plan before any numbers num-bers are issued. Mr. Adams' has been working on the plan for some time, Mr. Cooley states, and the plan wUl soon be ready for adoption. When this is done it Is expected that all streets in the city will be numbered and that all home owners will be urged to check carefully their proper number and then display the assigned number prominently on the home. i |
