Show Alcoholism Foundation Establishes Iron County Chapter Wednesday A District Chapter of the Utah Alcoholism Foundation for Iron County was organized at a meeting meet-ing In Cedar City Wednesday evening, the Chapter to be known as District No. 14. Administrative officers were elected with L. N. Marsden, Jr., named as chairman, Tony Lambert, Lam-bert, vice chairman; Walter Han-sink, Han-sink, secretary and treasurer, and Al Jensen, district representative to the foundation executive committee. com-mittee. Urle, pre-viously pre-viously appointed to the committee commit-tee in the state-wide organization organiza-tion setup, the local chapter will have three representatives to the central group. Clyde W. Gooderman, executive director of the foundation, who assisted with the organization of the local chapter, pointed out that with the foundation organization organ-ization being expanded to cover the entire state the over-all effect ef-fect will soon become much more apparent The objectives of the chapter, as well as the foundation, is to increase public understanding of alcoholism, its nature, treatment and prevention; to make this knowledge effectual in solving the problem of alcoholism; to promote the understanding that the alcoholic can be helped and is worth helping; to work for the accomplishment of treatment faculties fa-culties for alcoholics, and to pro- mote and direct research Into the field of alcoholism. The officers of the newly established es-tablished chapter will in the near future name a number of committees com-mittees to handle various phases of the chapter activities.
