Show Southern Utah Vater Groups Meet In Cedar Watershed protection and other oth-er conservation problems were discussed at a district interagency inter-agency meeting Friday, March 2, at the College of Southern Utah auditorium, arranged for by Wallace Wal-lace SJoblom, Iron County agent, through the courtesy of Dr. Roy-den Roy-den C Braithwalte of the C S U. A. Llbby, Salt Lake City, state conservationist. Soil Conservation Conser-vation Service; A. G. Nord, Og-den, Og-den, assistant regional forester, and Albert Albertson, district supervisor, su-pervisor, forest Service; Clarence Anderson, SaJt Lake City; state director, Farmers Home Administration; Admin-istration; J. Taylor Allen, Provo, chairman, State Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation committee; Dr. Carl Frlsch-knecht, Frlsch-knecht, director of the Utah State Agricultural College Extension Service, and Paul Christensen, Extension Soils specialist. Dr. Frischknecht, who conducted conduct-ed the meeting, safd conservation conserva-tion of soil and water Is one of the most Important probjems confronting con-fronting the state. "Wewant to be sure that every acre foot of water Is wisely used," he added. The extension official noted that the purpose of the gathering gather-ing was to permit personnel of the agencies to become better acquainted ac-quainted and to avoid duplication duplica-tion of effort. |
