Show REGION SIX PLAYOFFS IN ST. GEORGE The Cedar High School basketball basket-ball team, Dixie Division champion, cham-pion, will begin its quest of higher honors Saturday night, tangling with the Parowan Rams for Region Six honors, and then Into the State Class B Tournament Tourna-ment at Provo next Wednesday. The Parowan Rams are Millard Division champs, and the game Saturday between the Rams and Redmen will determine the re- gion championship. However, it I will have no bearing on either team's entry into the state tournament tourn-ament I The Region title game will be played at St. George at 7:30 p.l m. Saturday, as a part of a play-off play-off series to de'-'rmine the third state tournament entry from the Region. Second and third place winners in the two divisions will I battle for the third team berth.' Millard and Berber finished sec-' ond and third, respectively, in the Millard division, while Dixie and Hurricane tied for second and third in the Dixie division. Dixie Dix-ie was named pecond place for the division as the result of a flip of a coin. In the playoff Hurricane will meet Millard at 7:30 p. m. Friday, with Dixie and Beaver tangling Immediately afterwards. The losers los-ers will drop out of the meet to be replaced by Cedar and Parowan, and the two first night winners wlU then play the second sec-ond game Saturday with the tourney berth at stake. Each participating school has been allotted 110 tickets for the nights in which its team plays. In other words. 110 tickets each will be available to Cedar and Parowan for Saturday night., but none for Friday night. Schools, whose teams lose on the first i night will not receive tickets for Saturday night Of course, a few more seats than the 400 allotted allot-ted will be available both nights. lit is understood that these will I be sold on a first come, first 'served basis, and supporters of the visiting schools can get in if they can beat the Dixie fans to the seats. The pairings for the state tour-nament tour-nament will not be announced until Sunday, so it is not known when the Redmen or Parowan will play in the opening round. ior what teams they will meet. The tournament opens' early on Wednesday in the B Y U field-house field-house and continues through Saturday Sat-urday when a new state champion cham-pion will be crowned.
