Show Council Postpones Action On Fire Truck Bids The City Council opened bids at the regular council meeting Thursday night for a fire truck to be purchased on a city and county cooperative basis. Eight bids were received, ranging from $16,000 to $19,000, but there was such a wide range in the trucks offered that It was impossible to reach a decision during the time available at the meeting. Instead it was decided that a committee composed of representatives represen-tatives from the county commission, commis-sion, city council, and the Cedar City fire department, would study specifications of the bids offered and report back to the council at the next regular meeting. It Is understood that two or three leading mechanics will be called In to hejp determine the best mechanical features offered. The lowest bid considered was for $15,929.50 and the highest for $19,119.50. |
