Show Marine Corps Accepts Officer Candidate Applicants The Marine Corps is now accepting ac-cepting applications for the 30th Marine Corps Officer Candidate Course which will convene at Quantico, Va., in March, Captain William R. Self, Officer Selection Officer for the Intermountain area announced today. Young men between the ages of 20 and 26 (inclusive), who possess a degree fron an acrre-dited acrre-dited college or university, may apply for this program. Captain Self also stated that both unmarried un-married and married men may apply for the Officer Candidate Course, martial status having no bearing on an applicant's eligibility. eligi-bility. Men accepted for the course attend a 12-week training session ses-sion at Marine Corps Schools, Quantico, Va., and upon completion comple-tion of the course are commissioned commis-sioned second lieutenants in the U. S. Marine Corps. Applicants have a choice of training ground or aviation officers. Avia- tion candidates attend flight training at Pensacola, Fla., after completing the course at Quantico. Quan-tico. Once a man has been accept- j ed for this program, he will be exempt from the draft and will not be called by selective service while awaiting the convening date of the Officer Candidate Class in MarC. |
