Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING Mr. Virginia Webster BELVA ZIMNS Getting together for another' delightful club social were the ladies of the Belva Zimns. Melba i Wood was hostess for the Thurs-1 day evening event which was en-Joyed en-Joyed by the fourteen members present. Giving a review of the book "Hand Carts to Zion" by Le-Roy Le-Roy and Anna Hafen, Mrs. Reed Bradshaw presented a very interesting in-teresting personal touch, telling the background of the authors with whom she is personally related. re-lated. There to enjoy the evening even-ing with the club members were guests invited by the hostess, Mrs. Max Heap and Mrs. Lister Hallman. ' Two young boys and a happy father wait at home for the return re-turn of a new baby sisster and her mother. The baby was born on November 1st to Dr. and Mrs. Dan Corry, former Cedar City residents, who now make their home in Lander, Wyoming. Receiving Re-ceiving the good news of the infant in-fant daughter were proud grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Macfarlane and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Corry, all of Cedar City. BEADING CLUB An outstanding review of poetry po-etry was presented to the Reading Read-ing Club by special lesson guest Mrs. Marion Hahne. Club members mem-bers met Friday afternoon at the home of Ellen Hopkins to enjoy the original work of Mrs. Hahne. Everyone was pleased with the excellent composition and presentation pre-sentation of poetry. Co-hostess Mrs. Lillian Macfarlane and Mrs. Hopkins served a delicious luncheon lun-cheon to the ladies which completed com-pleted a pleasant afternoon. The Boyd Reddingtons have company this week. Boyd's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. George Red-dington Red-dington of Oxford, Idaho stopped on their way to Mesa, Ariz, where they will make their home for the winter. The couple arrived Saturday to enjoy a few days' visit vi-sit with their son and daughter-in-law and the four little Rod-dijigton Rod-dijigton boys. EN AVANTE A good way to relax is to listen to music or the story of music. Taking it easy as they were entertained by Mrs. Kumen i Gardner were the members of I the En Avante Club. Mrs. Gardner Gard-ner presented An Even.'ng of Music Mu-sic as she reviewed "Some Enchanted En-chanted Evenings" a story of Rogers, Hart and Hammerstein by Deems Taylor. Club members meeting at the home of Mrs. Roe Palmer enjoyed the character study of the lives and music career car-eer of the three famous artists. The evening was climaxed by the record presentation of 'The Sound of Music" sung by Mary Martin. Visiting in Salt Lake this past week end were .Mr. and Mrs. Page Knell. The Knells were pleased to greet their daughter, Linda, who arrived in Salt Lake from the Logan campus for the br'.-'f reunion. The Knells were guests at the home of Mrs. Knell's sister, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Shurtluff. Host and hostess for a beautiful beauti-ful Saturday afternoon occasion in Milford were attorney and Mrs. Harold Cline. The Clines Invited the R. L. Gardners, the J. Harlan Burns and the Pat Fentons of Cedar City along with attorney Charles Pickett of St. George to Join with them and the Sam Clines for an off-the cuff visit and social affair. The couples were treated to the delectable de-lectable delicacy of Chinese food before returning home later in the evening. Mr. Blaine Barney journeyed to Provo last week end where he was a guest at the home of his brother, Dr. Vernon S. Barney. They enjoyed a week end of hunting in that area and spent part of Sunday participating as spectators during the homecoming homecom-ing activities at the B. Y. U. Mr. Barney was accompanied north as far as Uchfield by his wife and children. Mrs. Barney visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. V. Jensen, and other relatives. |
