Show Prominent Leaders to Attend Dedication of CSU Science Center The honorable George D. Clyde, Governor of Utah, will be In attendance at-tendance at dedication rites Saturday, Sa-turday, Nov. 11 on the campus of College of Southern Utah. Cere-monies Cere-monies will mark the official opening op-ening of the nearly $1 million CSU Science Center. Governor Clyde Is slated to make a response on the dedication dedica-tion program which begins at 8 p. m. In the CSU Auditorium. Featured speaker on the program pro-gram will be Dr. Willard F. Lib-by, Lib-by, professor of chemistry at University Un-iversity of California at Los Angels and Nobel Prize winner in chemistry in 19G0. Dr. Libby suffered a personal set-back this week when his home and all of his personal belongings be-longings were destroyed by the fire that has been raging in the West Los Angeles area. Dr. Libby will fly to Salt Lake City arriving at 4:48 p. m. November No-vember 11 and will then arrive ir Cedar City at 6:35. He will return re-turn to Los Angeles Sunday, Nov. 12. The dedication program will be under the direction of Dr. Daryl Chase, president of the Utah State University; and Dr. Royden C. Braithwaite, Director of CSU, will conduct the proceedings. proceed-ings. Additional responses are expected from Alma Sonne, general gen-eral authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of USU. Dr. El Roy Nel-son. Nel-son. Chairman of the Utah State Building Board, will also make a short response. Members of the Building Board will be In Cedar City on the campus of CSU for a tour of Inspection as part of a regular meeting session. Dedicatory Dedica-tory prayer will be offered by Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth, Cedar City, member of the Board of Trustees of USU. Dedication program will be preceeded by a tour of inspection of the new center by the many guests, a dinner, special meeting and a football game. |
