Matthews, assistant as-sistant Professor of Animal Husbandry with champion ram, and Twenty Orton, range assistant, with champion ewe from Branch Agricultural college herd that won top honors at recent stock shows in Ephraim and Delta. The ram was first place winner of the yearling Rambouillet ram class at the Ephraim show, where 45 rams competed against him, and the ewe was named champion of the same show, which is recognized as one of the largest and most important Ram- bouillct shows in the west. Both were champions of the Delta show held recently. re-cently. These two animals walked off with top honors in the state as lambs last year, winning at the Southern Utah Livestock show in Cedar City, the Iron County Fair at Parowan, and at the State Fair in Salt Lake City. They are out of the $1050 Rambouillet Ram-bouillet ram bought at the National Ram Sale two years ago, and owned jointly by the college and Dr. John Beal, local Rambouillet Ram-bouillet breeder. |
