Coal Creek Bridge To Receive Repairs Bids submitted to the city for the construction of a proposed bridge across Coal Creek approaching ap-proaching the city recreation park east of town were so much higher than the estimated cost that the city officials may abandon aban-don the project. Plans had been prepared for a bridge with a 12 ton capacity and the lowest bid received on the construction was $10,700, much more than funds available for the project. At the present time the city manager and engineer en-gineer are studying the possibility possibili-ty of using the abutments on the old bridge, with some reinforcing, rein-forcing, and making this meet the needs of the park. With the development of a Little league and Pony league diamond on the park the use will be increased this summer, making mak-ing some action on the bridge project imperative.
