Show Utahns to Celebrate June as "Dairy Month" CALL FOR BIDS Bids for furnishing and delivering deliv-ering coal to the schools of the Iron County School District for the school year 1953-54, will be received by the Board of Education Educa-tion at its office In Cedar City from date until 5:00 p. m. Monday, Mon-day, June 1, 1953. Said coal to be good, clean, merchantable coal delivered to the following places when needed need-ed in the approximate amounts specified: Cedar City schools 600 tons Parowan Schools 225 tons Paragonah School 55 tons Kanarra School 50 tons Escalante Valley School 35 tons The coal to be mine-run slack, re-screen slack or ground slack. Bids may be made on any or all schools. The Board reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids. Iron County School Board, By Howard N. Dalley. Utah's event will begin on Monday, June 1, with a home-produced home-produced coronation in Salt Lake City at which a milk-drinking queen Utah's 1953 Dairy Darlingwill Dar-lingwill be crowned in ceremonies cere-monies at the Centre theatre .Assisting .As-sisting in the crowning will be Miss LaVon Brown of Provo, Utah's present Dairy Darling who was chosen Miss Utah after her selection last year to preside over the state's dairy industry. The ceremony will be preceded by a downtown parade, In which Dairy Darling candidates from various parts of the state will participate. "Good looks and good health through eating more dairy foods," will be a keynote during June, according to Leonel C. Lewis, general chairman, Utah's June Dairy Month committee. |
