Show I Western Air Lines 'Discloses High Pay Checks in Utah i New evidence of the air trans-1 trans-1 portatlon industry's rapidly-growing rapidly-growing importance in western economy was disclosed today in an announcement by Western Air Lines that its employees in four Utah cities received more than $-164,000 in pay during the past year. Ranking high on Western's payroll, Utah residents share top level with the airline's personnel person-nel In California, Colorado, Montana, Mon-tana, Washington and Minnesota, according to J. Judson Taylor, vice president and treasurer. Western's expenditures for wages and salaries in this area were almost equalled by the company's com-pany's purchases of fuel, materials, mater-ials, utilities and other items, Taylor pointed out. Western, Oldest commercial airline in the nation, operates in 41 cities in 12 western states and Canada over its 5,525-mile aerial system. A total of $-164,000 was earned last year by Western employees in Salt Lake City, Ogden, Logan and Cedar City. |
