Show Parry Surrenders Gavel to Isom At Legion Meeting ( ORVILLE ISOM I Conway Tarry, commander of the American Legion Post No. 74 In Cedar City for the past year will relinquish his position at an Installation meeting to be held Monday, June 1 at the Armory. Ar-mory. Orville Isom, recently elected elect-ed to the commandership will take over his duties at that time. Elected to serve for the coming year with Commander Isom, were: Milton Sevy, first vice commander; com-mander; Hamblin Leigh, second vice commander; Nathan Byers, chaplain; Milton Jolley, adjutant; adjut-ant; Arthur Dustin, sergcant-at-arms; Francis Betenson, finance officer, and an executive committee com-mittee composed of James Hoyle, Jr., Burns Sherratt, and Leland D. Heywood. Commander Parry will become a member of the executive execu-tive committee. At the Installation meeting, commander Parry will turn over the duties and gavel to Mr. Isom and will also make recommendations recommenda-tions for the ensuing year based on nis experiences as posi commander. com-mander. An Interesting and important im-portant meeting is being planned and it is pointed out by Commander Comman-der Parry that every Legion member should be in attend- , ance. Outgoing officers, besides commander com-mander Parry are: Elton Stratton, first vice commander; Harry Hair, second vice commander; John E. Rail, adjutant; Sheldon Olds, chaplain; Ralph Jones, sergeant-at-arms; Dee Cowan, finance officer; George Grimshaw, historian, histor-ian, and Orwin Green, Alfred 01-r;on 01-r;on and Whitney Jensen of the executive committee. Meeting time is scheduled at 8 p. m. with an outstanding program pro-gram outlined for the Legion membership. |
