Show U. S. A. C. to Bestow Degrees on 28 Cedar Scholars at Exercises Tune 1 Froving the interest of the citizens citi-zens of Cedar City in higher learning and their desire for education edu-cation was release received from , the Utah State Agricultural col- j lege today. Twenty-two students all of Cedar City, will receive de-1 grees at graduation rites at the school in June. A list of the 28 sudents who will be honored with degrees follows: fol-lows: William Melvin Condie, Jerry Sherratt, Reeta Ann Smith, Ray-ma Ray-ma S. Anderson, Claire Ksplin, Virginia S. Gates, Vera II. Hir-schi, Hir-schi, Blair Kenney, Ray Parker, ; Mary Lou Pendleton, Norman j Romberger, Mildred P. Sargent,; Florence Tippetts. Jean VV. Whit-1 ney, Boyd Carter Rollins, Reed Bevan Bradshaw, Thomas Bartlie Cardon, Kenyon Fretwell, Karl , Benjamin Petty, Richard Glen Southwick, Edward Almon Nelson, Nel-son, and Bruce Karl Gardner. Mr. Nelson will receive his master's degree. A number of these graduates have received their training at the Branch Agricultural college but the degrees, to be bestowed, will be given from the U S A C, it is understood. Nevertheless, the number is of great significance in regard to the desire for higher learning. Diplomas will be awarded to 891 students in commencement exercises Monday, June 1, at 10 a. m. in the U S A C fieldhouse, Ur K. G. Peterson, president, announced. an-nounced. Commencement speaker will be Dr. F. D. Farrell, president emeritus emeri-tus of Kansas State college at Manhattan. Dr. Farrell is a graduate grad-uate of U S A C and for many years he worked for the United Slates Department of Agriculture, Agricul-ture, lie taught one year at the University of Idaho before joining join-ing the faculty of Kansas State college. |
