Show Tax Levy Set by City Breakdown Listed At a special meeting of the Parowan City Council, held last Saturday evening, a tax levy of 21 mills was set for the year, which is the same as it was last year, and was broken down Into In-to the various departments the same way also, according to E. Ray Lyman, mayor. The levy of 21 mills was broken brok-en down as follows: general fund, 5 mills; streets and sidewalks. 2 mills; library, 2 mills; parks, 1 mill; public safety, 4 mills, and debt retirement 7 mills. The levy of 21 mills will be against an assessed valuation of $611,047 as reported by the office of the Iron County assessor some time ago. The Paragonah Town Board in a meeting during the week, set the levy on propery in that town at 11 mills, the same as last year and the Kanarraville town board did likewise, setting the levy there at 8 mills, same as last year. |
