Show Interviews Scheduled For Applicants For City Manager Post Mayor L. V. Broadbent is busy arranging interviews with candidates candi-dates for the position of city manager of Cedar City to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation resigna-tion of Thomas Thorson. Mr. Thorsen, who has served as city manager here for the past two and a half years, resigned to accept ac-cept a similar position in Sterling, Ster-ling, Colo. He left Saturday for his new position. Sixteen applications for the Cedar City position had been received re-ceived from widely seperated areas, but screening has reduced the number being considered to six or seven, and the city council had authorized Mayor Broadbent to arrange interviews with the remaining candidates. Efforts will be made to make a selection at the earliest possible possi-ble moment, Mayor Broadbent said, but careful selection is going go-ing to be made even if it results in two or three weeks more delay de-lay before filling the vacancy. Not one local resident has applied ap-plied for the position, it is understood, under-stood, all of the applicants coming com-ing from other sections of Utah and from a number of other states. Most of the applicants are now serving as city managers manag-ers in other states, or have had I experience in the field. |
