Show Recent Rains Bring August 1 Total to 3.40 inches With two more beautiful storms hitting Parowan valley on Friday and Saturday, July 31 and Aug. 1 total rainfall for the period from July 9 up to Aug. 1 reached a total of 3.40 inches according to the local weather observer, Clayton Rasmussen. 2.41 inches of rain had come up to Thursday morning. .47 of an inch came in the fine steady storm Friday night which apparently appar-ently reached all over this section sec-tion of the state, and an additional addi-tional .52 of an inch came Saturday, Sat-urday, most of it in a heavy downpour late in the evening. While many of the early July storms were local in nature and very spotted, later storms have hit all parts of the valley and the desert ranges. The mountain ranges have received the most rainfall for many years and are very well soaked up. Little damage has been done by local storms with a few minor washouts on the roads in Faro-wan Faro-wan canyon reported and some damage resulting to farm lands in the south field from flood waters. , |
