Show Selective Service Bolls Undergo August Call Bevision Volunteers for military service, and the changing status of registrants reg-istrants under Selective Service because of work and school attendance, at-tendance, has kept the clerk of the Iron County selective service board extremely busy this summer sum-mer attempting to fill the monthly month-ly quotas of men from the coun ty on the proper age schedule. The oldest of the available men must fill each quota, and with the constant thange of classifications clas-sifications because of students leaving school, dropping out ol R O T C, and registrants changing chang-ing their work status, has resulted result-ed in weekly changes in the Se- lective Service rolls. Onl;- when a registrant volunteers for military mili-tary duty can a young man be sent in for induction if there are a sufficient number of qualified older registrants available. This situation has again changed the men who will fill the August quota of men vho will report from Iron County on Aug. 12. It was reported last week that Theon "Bud" Bauer would probably prob-ably be one of the four men to report. However, he has not qualified as yet, and since the time limit has passed he will not report in August. Another young man, J. L. Barlow Bar-low of Cedar City, has volunteered volun-teered this week for induction, which means that he will replace re-place one of the four who had previously been ordered to report. re-port. Another man, Maurice Kelson Kel-son of Cedar City, who has been attending school has also been ordered to report, and he will replace one of the men who had expected to report on Aug. 12. The two men, both younger than Nelson, whose induction will be delayed are Boyd Sherratt of Cedar Ce-dar City, and Garth Gilger oJ Parowan. In addition to Barlow and Nelson Nel-son who will report on Aug. 12, according to E. B. Dalley, clerk of the Selective Service board, will be John Bleak and Bevan Higbee, both of Cedar City.
