Theil Reeves With the signing of the truce in the Korean War and the start of the exchange of prisoners people peo-ple of Cedar City and southern Utah are hoping with Mr. and Mrs. Otto Reeves of Cedar City that sometime soon they may be notified that their son, Lt. Theil Reeves, who has been missing in Korea since January, 1952, is among those to be returned home. Since Theil was reported missing miss-ing on Jan. 11. 1952, after a raid over North Korea, no word of any kind has been received from him, or information about him. However, there is a possibility that he may be among the 3,313 Americans the enemy will return to the allied lines during the next 30 days. Reeves was a pilot of a Sabre-jet Sabre-jet and was shot down during a mission over North Korea. His plane was hit, and as he was last seen by his companions, the plane was losing altitude rapidly. rapid-ly. However, he radioed to his companions that he was alright, and experienced flyers felt that he would be able to land safely, leading to the belief that he may be a prisoner of war. At least I that is and has been the hope of all his friends in Cedar City. Now the hope is that he will be among the prisoners to be returned re-turned to their homes. |
