Show Fans Await Boxing find Wrestling Bouts Boxing and wrestling events to match any seen in southern Utah will be staged Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 3, 4, and 5 by the American Legion Post 74 in connection with the Red Butte Roundup and the national na-tional Independence Day holiday. Bouts are being arranged by national wrestling mentor . Ira Dern. Dern has arranged for some of the best boxers and wrestlers in the intermountain and west coast area. Featured in the first night's events will be a wrestling match between Joe Longson, intermountain in-termountain champ, and Wildcat McCann, Portland, Ore., a west coast favorite. Events will begin each night at 8 p. m. at the Branch Agricultural Agri-cultural college field house. No seats will be reserved but any place in the house is regarded as comparable to rind-side. Some of the boxers to be seen during the three-day event include in-clude Jerry Dairs, Salt Lake City; Max Young, Los Angeles; Phil Martinez, Salt Lake City; Jackie Carter, Oakland, and many others oth-ers Including local favorites. Wrestlers besides the first night attraction already mentioned include: in-clude: Al Don George, Chicago; Don Kay, Dugway, Utah; Buy Mays, Portland; Norman Roberts, Sacramento; Roughhouse Hanson and Indian Pete Rivers. |
