Show Five Teachers Signed for Iron County Posts Five vacancies in the teaching staffs of the schools of Iron county coun-ty have been filled during the past week, according to Superintendent Superin-tendent Ianthus Wright. Two graduates of the Utah State Agricultural college have signed contracts to teach in Cedar Ce-dar City. One of them, Miss Carolyn Caro-lyn Pond of Logan, will teach commercial subjects in the Cedar City high school, filling the vacancy va-cancy caused by the resignation : of Stanley DeMille. The other,! Miss Marjorie Nilson of Smith-field, Smith-field, Utah, will teach in the second grade of the Cedar East elementary school, replacing Rose Ellse Lund, who has resigned. Miss Velma Williams, who! graduated from the Branch Agricultural Ag-ricultural college this spring, will replace Mrs. Daryl Chase as teacher in the third grade of the East elementary school. Halvor Bennion, a Brigham Young university graduate, will succeed LaVand Bauer as principal prin-cipal of the Escalante Valley school. Mr. Bauer will be transferred trans-ferred to the Cedar West elementary elemen-tary school. Miss Phyllis Jane Palfreyman, Springville, who has been teaching teach-ing in Preston, Idaho, for the past two years, will teach English Eng-lish and Spanish in the Cedar City high school. She will succeed suc-ceed Mrs. Fern (Holt) Amend, who will not teach during the . coming school year. |
