Show Summer Festival Opens at U. of U.Monday Utahns will be introduced to one of Broadway's hit musicals Monday when Cole Porter's "Kiss Me Kate," starring Patricia Morrison Mor-rison and Jon Geyans opens Monday at the University of Utah's stadium bowl. The lively musical, based on Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" will begin at 8:45 p. m. and will run nightly tnrough July 12. Cedar City people will be especially es-pecially interested in the performance, per-formance, since one of the city's brilliant young vocalists, Miss Emma Lou Warren, will be prominently cast in the musical. The second feminine lead in "Kiss Me, Kate" will be played by Miss Warren. Emma Lou, daughter of the late Johnny and Mrs. Warren, is a senior student at the University of Utah. She has been an outstanding vocalist vocal-ist throughout her attendance at the Cedar City high school and at the Branch Agricultural college. She has continued to occupy a prominent position in the University music circles during dur-ing her study there. Miss Warren is a dance major in the college of education at the University. She has been active in Orchesis, national dance organization or-ganization and has appeared in several University theatre productions pro-ductions during the school year. The staning feminine role in "Hold That Line" the varsity play written especially for the University by Raymond Levy, well-known playwright, was played by Miss Warren. She ap. peared also in "Black Chiffon," a production of the Playbox theatre the-atre on the campus. Other Utahns who wll be seen in the cast are Stanley Russon, John Nicolayson, Arthur Jackson, Jay Lees, Duane Hill, Jack War-field, War-field, William Marcroft, Robert Taylor, Ruby MacQuarrie, Ronnie Roos and Larry Mason. The second big show of this summer's festival is the biblical bibli-cal opera, "Samson and Delilah," which will also be presented in the stadium bowl. It will run from July 17 through 19. Principals in "Samson and Delilah" De-lilah" will be Claramae Turner, beautiful contralto who has sung with the Metropolitan Opera company, and Lloyd Thomas Leech, a leading tenor of the New York Opera company. Utah actors supporting1 Miss Turner and Mr. Leech in "Sam-son "Sam-son and Delilah" will be Marvin Sorcnson, Lloyd Neal, Laurie Lyon, Cornell Green and Joseph Summerhays.
