Show Wide Program of Events to Feature j Day-Long 'Fourth' Celebration Here July Fourth will be a gala , day in Cedar City with the most extensive and varied program of events to be arranged in many years scheduled for the day long celebration. Events scheduled range from a daybreak salute through the children's parade, children's sports, children's dance, a patriotic pa-triotic meeting, rodeo parade, rodeo, boxing, wrestling and dancing. The volunteer fire department will be in charge of the daybreak day-break salute. The first major event will be the miniature parade, to be staged by the Lady Lions club, an in which hundreds of children are expected to participate. The parade is scheduled to start at 9 a. m., assembling at 200 South and Main, with the parade proceeding pro-ceeding down Main street to the City park on 200 North street. As soon as the parade is ended children's sports, with activities for every age group, will get under way at the park. At 11 a. m. a patriotic meeting meet-ing will be held at the First ward chapel under the direction of the Cedar Post of the American Legion and the American Legion J auxiliary. An excellent program has been arranged for the meeting, meet-ing, and should attract a large crowd. At 1 p. m. a rodeo parade will be held on Main street, to be followed at 2 p. m. by the first session of the Red Butte Roundup Round-up to be staged by the American Legion, the first such undertaking undertak-ing In Cedar City for many years. The rodeo will be staged at the Iron Bowl race track south of the city where complete new facilities fa-cilities have been installed. At 6:30 p. m. a children's dance for all youngsters of the community will be held in the First ward recreation hall. Evening events will feature an outstanding boxing and wrestling wrest-ling program to be staged at the Branch Agricultural college field house, under the direction of Ira Dern, famed Utah wrestler of years gone by. The final event of the day will be a dance to be held in the fieldhouse, with music to be furnished fur-nished by the Melody Macs orchestra.
