Show Spirit of Cooperation Gets lob Done At Rodeo Grounds The type of cooperative effort that does much to assure the success of civic undertakings in Cedar City was displayed Monday Mon-day evening at the Iron Bowl race track, according to a committee com-mittee member from the American Ameri-can Legion rodeo organization. A major problem of capping the arena of the newly built rodeo ro-deo grounds arose Monday afternoon, after-noon, and by 5:30 p. m. a crew of men were on hand and at work, donating their time, equipment equip-ment and operation expenses. Before Be-fore dark over 200 yards of dirt was hauled into the arena and leveled off. Two groups responded to do the Job, Chet Parry, local gravel and concrete contractor, and his three sons, Ken, Roger and Cog, and five city employees. Parry in addition to contributing contribut-ing his own efforts and the work done by his sons, also furnished a loader and a 14-ton dump truck. The city crew included Bert McConnell, Jay Middleton, Parry Mackelprang, Lynn Fiack and Cal Slack. McConnell also furnished fur-nished his own truck. |
