Show Family Life Group Conducts Very Successful Conclave Relationships in family living were discussed at a very success-: ful Family and Community Liv- j ing conference conducted in Cedar Ce-dar City Friday under the sponsorship spon-sorship of the local Parent-Teacher Association and the Utah State Extension Service. Panel discussions discus-sions on family and child relationships rela-tionships were conducted with Dr. C. Jay Skidmore, assistant professor of sociology at the Utah State Agricultural college, Dr. Noble De Hart, Provo, assistant Utah County extension agent; Prof Don C. Cartpr nnd Dr. Ther- al R. Black, both of the U S A C sociology department, as speakers. speak-ers. The speakers maintained that marriage relationship has changed chang-ed to the point where a strictly masculine dominance in the home has been replaced by one of mutual understanding where decisions are shared by the entire en-tire family. Under a new and wholly democratic society, the masculine and feminine positions posi-tions in the family have become almost interchangeable, the speakers maintained. In commenting on parent-child relationships the speakers declared de-clared that the greatest feeling of security on the part of the child comes in the home where parents cooperate and share decisions de-cisions in the home.
