Show Life-Long Resident Of Cedar City Dies Wednesday Mrs. Mary Louise Elliker Hou-chen Hou-chen Fisher, 85, a life-long resident resi-dent of Cedar City and active church worker, died at her home Wednesday, March 12, of ailments ail-ments incident to age. She was born in Cedar City on July 10, 1866, a daughter of Henry Hen-ry and Mary Elliker, early pio neers to ueaar city. An acuve member of the L D S church, she joined the Relief Society at a very early age, and continued as a member all her life. She also spent much of her time doing work in the St. George temple. In 1885 she married William Wil-liam Houchen in the St. George LDS temple, and they made their home in Cedar City. They were the parents of 12 children, six of whom, with her husband preceded pre-ceded her in death. In 1930 she married James Fisher and they have continued to make their homejn Cedar City. Surviving are her husband and six children, Mrs. Arthur (Iva) Nelson, Cedar City; Mrs. Howard (Rebecca) Cronkright, Mrs. E. S. (Verlyn) Jones, and Wallace Houchen, Los Angeles; LeRoy Houchen, Cedar City, and Mrs. Ernest (Dona) Judd, St. George. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren grandchil-dren and 22 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Maggie Dover, Dov-er, Los Angeles.". Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday, March 15, in the Third ward chapel under the direction of Bishop A. E. Whatcott. |
