Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Ogden at 324 25th St. An IRS employee is also available at the Utah State Tax Commission at 160 E. 300 S. on Monday and Thursday The Internal Revenue Service provides a variety of choices to taxpayers tax-payers who want free help completing com-pleting their federal tax returns. Taxpayers can listen to any of 140 recorded IRS Tele-Tax messages on taxes 24 hours a day, if they have push-button telephones. Taxpayers with rotary dial telephones can access Tele-Tax only during normal business hours. The toll-free Tele-Tax number is 1-800-829-4477. Individuals can also call the Tele-Tax number to check on the status of their refunds. Also, taxpayers can obtain tax i help by phone by calling IRS toll-free toll-free at 1-800-829-1040 during normal nor-mal business hours. Those wanting any of the 100-plus publications or federal tax forms, can call, toll-free, 1-800-829-3676. Forms are also available at many post offices and libraries, or at local IRS offices. Hearing-impaired taxpayers who have access to TVTelephone TDD equipment can get tax help by calling, call-ing, toll-free, 1-800-829-4059. Taxpayers who would like individual, in-dividual, in-person help, may call the IRS for the location and hours of operation of the nearest Vol unteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site. VITA volunteers assist individuals who cannot afford paid professional help and others with special needs, such as persons with disabilities and those who do not speak English and the elderly. A volunteer program conducted especially espe-cially for older taxpayers is Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE). TCE counselors provide tax help at sites convenient to seniors and they frequently travel to locations where older individuals reside.
